Bed in Exchange Hotel Toogoolawah
Toogoolawah Exchange Hotel is a gorgeous little establishment with so much character going for it. The bed was super comfortable with the softest sheets ever. I just fell into them and felt instantly snuggly...which is not something I can say I feel with most other accommodation bedding. And the pillows were great too. Not too thin. Not hard or lumpy. Perfection! A lot of thought has gone into the decor and all the little final touches for guests. Super convenient affordable and hearty meals from the Groovy Goat downstairs - with super attentive and competent staff to keep things running smoothly. Loved that breakfast was also included which made for one less thing to have to manage.. Our room was more than adequate and definitely comfortable. I loved the ambience, the country hospitality and character. Just the history that oozed from the rooms which made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. I didn't really want to leave to be honest. I really really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Great job Toogoolawah Exchange Hotel Management and Staff!!!

Our second stay at the Exchange Hotel. This hotel is along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and is perfect if you are hiking or biking. The rooms are very spacious and bed comfortable. Room includes toast/ cereal breakfast the next morning. If you ask for rooms 1 to 4, they come with your own private space on the top floor front balcony. It is worth booking one of these rooms for the relaxing space in the evening or watching the sunrise in the morning. Meals at the pub downstairs are good sized. the beer garden out the back is very atmospheric and relaxing. Rooms do not have ensuites, but shared bathrooms, which we had no issue with and no waiting time to use them. As mentioned, this was our second stay here as we enjoy hiking the BVRT. We would stay here again.

It was a large room with separate toilet and bathroom [bath/shower]. Location was in Toogoolawah main street easy walking distance to everything. I also liked the common kitchen with access to complementary cereal, bread toaster, butter, Vegemite, jam (satchets). I had dinner on the night downstairs & they have a good pub menu. Park at the rear with access after hours although it isn't paved so drive slowly. I also liked the hot water which although a bit slow, was hot & constant in temperature (I love a good shower) Air conditioning and ceiling fans kept me very comfortable during my stay when it hot & humid outside. [Condensation on the outside of the window attests to this].

The shared kitchen area. The ambience of high-ceiling period architecture ... coming from a worker's cottage in the city I felt very comfortable with the style. I liked the utilitarian nature without being overly posh ... it's a hotel in the country ... this is exactly what I desired. The bed was comfy and the aircon worked well. An oil heater was also supplied for cold winter nights. There was the usual TV microwave, cups, teabags, etc., although we always travel with a small bag of kitchen supplies. The ensuite was welcomed although not standard for the hotel. I look forward to staying there again

It was a nice old fashioned pub. Very comfortable bed, the ensuite room was large with a separate lounging area, table and chairs, and a separate toilet. The aircon and fan really cooled the room quickly and made for a comfortable sleep. Downstairs is a bistro with great food for a reasonable price. It’s close to the rail trail. What’s not to like?
